• Hayley Grow will offer her voice and perspective for the Panel on “Returning Reverence to The Sacred Power of Birth and Motherhood”. Through birth trauma and limited options, Hayley grew to know sides of birth that aren’t often talked about. She is a mother of two and realized early on in motherhood her passion to be the change she wishes she had for her first birth experience. Becoming a doula because she was told she didn’t need one, becoming a placenta artist after encapsulating her own. She realized how limited birth education is and flew states away to become a childbirth educator, then traveling to the Yucatan to study under a Mayan Midwife for a couple of weeks and returning home to begin her journey as a student midwife at Midwives College of Utah (MCU). During her first year as a student midwife, Hayley started a coalition called Home or Center Birth Medicaid to create a law stating that LDEMs have to be covered under state insurance. This allowed two new birth options for low-income women in Hayley’s state. Hayley hopes to be a change for women while here on this planet. Having two daughters of her own, she is actively working to change the narrative by following her path to creating a better future for our children.
